  Wow. This is certainly firing on all 12 cylinders. The light ruby color belies the substance in the glass. Leather cherry autumn leaves fresh tilled soil. I would venture to say this is at peak because it’s so very balanced that I can’t see it getting any better. The wonderful acidity carries the black cherry core for a lengthy finish.
  This is a top tier Barolo for my tastes.

Predominately red fruit on both the nose and palate, with tar present on the nose as well. Lovely. Still showing no sign of slowing down at 25 years of age, although this drinks more maturely than either the ‘99 or 2001.

  Dinner with Iggy and Friends (Le Brasserie, New York): Light red, imperfect clarity. Some weird funk and obvious VA on the nose. Lighter weight and more earthy than the 1999, but this was advanced and slightly maderized. A rough night for the Conterno’s.
