Bought from a local retailer 8-9 years ago for less than 10/b. Decanted with normal sediment for its age. Purple; fragrant, some black cherry, some oak, that follows on the palate, good mouthfeel. Enjoyable with simple sauteed salmon filets. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement since purchase. My evaluation: I've stopped giving scores on a "100-point scale" as I've become less convinced that they can be meaningful to others. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. I considered this notable when considering quality, age, and price.

Pours as pleasing lighter red/pink. Swirls with sinewy legs. Cupping the glass to my nose, aroma promises a vine-like green and agreeable sweet fruit melange. The taste is similar. This is a happy little noir that works well with seafood that has an undercurrent of umami. I put together an okra and tomato gumbo with shrimp. The wine was a perfect partner and splendid sipper in the afterglow.

Ruby-garnet; black cherries, strawberry jam, vanilla; sweet cherry, strawberry, slightly jammy, silky, medium body, low acidity, woody tannins, short finish. Concentrated California style although compromised pinot character. Hard pressed grapes causing the bitter tannins? Still a good quaffer for the price.

Bit of a bitter finish. Tracy did not like.

Solid classic pinot with medium body and berry undertones
