The rather high acidity and viscosity in this pleasant effort first makes me think of a good riesling, but the ethereal nose combined with a large chunk of lemon zest and a subtle sweet 'flowerish' component reveals this is indeed a Viognier. It is by far more elegant than its Alban sibling, but it is just as far from its European cousins such as La Doriane from Guigal. This does not matter at all, the DuMol Lia is a lovely creation which is drinking superbly at present. I would not hesitate to buy more. (score is 90-91)

This Sonoma Viognier has 14.9% abv. It is a very pale yellow. The nose is Rhone-like, with floral fragrances (violets?) and tropical fruits that have been stretched out over pieces of slate. There is a honey-like sweetness to the nose, with no elements of alcohol apparent. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, a bit oily and thick, with flavors of lychee, pineapple & mango. The finish is velvety and medium length, with a nice minerality at the end of the fruit. This wine is drinking quite well right now, and should last another year or two.

Community has spoken on this one. Very deep Viognier with great citrus notes. Ate with foie gras and was a surprisingly good pairing.

Drinking really well right now. Great base of lemon and violets with strong acid. Great body and long finish.

Wow. Not to my liking at all. I won't rate on the normal scale. Heavy, sweet. Apricot.
2 on the AF scale.
