Sta Rita Hills tasting- Sunday 7/7: Lots of earth on the aromas- straw, forest, mushroom, along with savory spice and hints of the fruit. The palate is alight with stone fruit and citrus, along with honeysuckle and spice. Richly layered but bright throughout, with a full finish.

Bright gold. Lime, green apple and white pepper on the nose. Tight, some zesty citrus. Not as good as other Brewer-Clifton single vineyards. Some wet stone, a bit of an off finish.

Sipping at Stonehouse San Ysidro Ranch. Succulent, excellent Chardonnay!
