Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Good wine but not great tonight. Aromatics dominated by dark fruits and a bit of the forest floor pungency (is that a word?) that I always seem to find in the north side of Savigny and Pernand. The dark fruits continue on the palate with a piercing vein of acidity and tannic structure. The extraction on this wine is really something. Really intense in the mouth. Really nice. What takes away a bit though is the drying tannins. Not sure if they will ever recede, but it's worth waiting to find out. It seems to have the material to go longer. Probably opened a bit too soon, I'd be curious to see what this tastes like in 5 years.
