Decanted for 4+ plus hours and never came to stride. A touch of green on the nose that blew off with time. Dried fruit with medicinal qualities. Firm tannins and much a food wine. Still tight at the end of the evening but just did not have a wow factor. May need more time in the bottle.

This varietal is not usually done on its own. I'm not even sure if it's a Rhone or a Bordeaux varietal. In any event, it's a pleasant experience. You'll pay more than your usual bottle of red, but you'll get more. Not heavy in tannins, but this may leave more space for flavour. Very good (86.5).

A little on the tart side, without the smoky violet notes that one might expect from Petit Verdot, but all the same a very good effort and very likely Stratus' best red wine.
