This was given a short decant and consumed over a few hours. Aromatically expressive from the start, rather full bodied with a medium to long finish. This bottle seemed to have years ahead of it. I'm beginning to think this vintners syrahs are immortal.

A bit dried out / past peak - there's some fruit (some) especially on the nose but not a lot else going on. Going to pop the 2012 soon. Edit: I also recall a ferrous character here... I like cool climate Syrah, but this one is no longer in balance.

Decanted …. Not because it is an old wine, but because it is still so young. The structure of L-M wines is not to be taken lightly. These wines can be massive – not overdone – just massive structure, yet always balanced. An enticing nose of brinded black olives, smokey blackberries, cassis, and rosemary. The mouthfeel is silky, but masculine with fruit and acidity hanging from an I-beam of tannins. The finish is long. Only a shadow of sediment along the down, cellar side of the bottle. Decanted. 14.4% alc. With Remedy Burger smash burgers and fries . 11.09.23. Highly Recommended.

This was in fine shape. Brooding but balanced, age has treated this very well. Richly colored but midweight mouthfeel.
