(12%) 100% Carricante – Hailing from the soils of Mt. Etna this one is pale, yellowish gold in the glass with a vibrant nose that follows through to the palate with white peach and crisp apple flavors. The backbone is pure and dry with nice acidity and layers of tertiary flavors around the edges including mineral, herby, a bit salty, a touch of resin, slight oxidation and a touch of nuttiness on the finish. So subtle and elegant you may miss this one in a tasting as it can come across as simple. That said I think this is a fantastic wine as our most from this producer!

Pale straw with a hint of green. A quite muted nose; seemed very closed and unwilling to open. Fresh and tart with zingy lemon acidity and stony minerality but let down by a complete lack of length. Some in the group suggested that this perhaps isn't a wine suited to a tasting environment.

Light straw-yellow, not very pronounced nose, but after all this is a texture-wine, its not its aromas that count so much. Very fine acidity which balances the flavour concentration. Medium bodied, round, mineral and lemony with long and clean aftertaste. A wine of finesse.

Thoroughly enjoyed this bottle. Reminded me of dusty freshly picked lemons on Capri. Really beautiful.
