Medium red, no bricking. Nose of ripe blackberry, red bell pepper, mint. Round and full, low tannin, moderate acid. Deeply fruited of cherry and mint; the wine's original profile of blackberry and boysenberry is gone. Acids carries a very nice finish. The wine held up for two hours at which point the bottle had been drained. No person would guess this is an inexpensive 29 year old wine. Thank you Tom Dehlinger, Jeff and Gregg Bowers wherever you are all now. From magnum #1 of one.

Garnet. Pleasant aromas of bell pepper, bay leaf, green olive, blackberry. Round and soft in the mouth, its currant and olive flavor is easily recognizable as an old California Cabernet. Gets better with two hours of air. Not bad for a specimen from a cool cab climate, five year old vines, a weak vintage and twenty-nine years back; it's a nice surprise. Tom Dehlinger farmed his land well and used a deft hand on this one. Bottle #12 of 12.

(Dehlinger Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Bottled) Group's 7 (my 4) – 77 pts.; 0, 1, 2, 0 – other half of magnum - dark red with some cloudiness and sediment (I think I got the bottom of this bottle); berry, cedar and mushroom nose; tasty tart red fruit and leather with firm sweet tannins; medium finish 89+ pts.
