Reasonably deep colour with plenty of rim change. Initially a touch stinky but this blows off quite quickly to reveal developed burgundian aromas of sous bois, spice and a little honeyed element of advanced age. It opens beautifully on the palate. Quite broad and surprisingly dense. A real kick of strawberry accented fruit but presented in a rounded supple manner. Narrows a little towards the back end with the aged flavours of honey and spice again prevalent and just a remaining wisp of tannin. Very well balanced with nothing sticking out. Tres Charmes. Has aged very well for a supposedly light vintage and well worth seeking out. Consistent with previous bottles from this case.
