Decanted briefly and served over the course of an hour at Rust en Vrede restaurant. A great wine from start to finish. Youngish nose but still very expressive, smoke, crushed rocks, coffee grounds, fresh red currant and cherry, red Cabernet fruit, very layered with its variety of red fruits. The palate is also on the young side of maturity, firm acidity laces the exotic red currant and cherry fruit, cocoa powder, plenty of dry extract in the midpalate and finish, giving the wine a high-quality texture and mouthfeel. It tastes like a Cab dominant Penfolds Grange. This can only get better with a few more years of bottle age. Drink now-2030.

Second annual bottle, 10 to go...enjoyable but not as special as desperately hoped; a bit too hot, only showing complexity on nose and palette after 3+hrs of decant and only with food; pronounced syrah spice, superb texture [91-92]
