My last and drunk in perfect condition. Mellow brulée blackcurrant and dark hedge fruits, charred oak, truffle with floral nuances and dash of desert spice. Beautifully integrated, racy and fully mature. I can't imagine how Pinotage can get better than this! Drink soon.

Whilst showing its age in colour and truffly elements, remarkably like my last (2012!) note with the sweet/brulée blackcurrant core balanced with a bitter cherry element. Velvety concentration and moreish. For drinking up soon while balance maintained.
Over the pond tomorrow for a couple of weeks.

Decanted 1hr before consumption, just right. Mature sweet vegetal background still with the (unique to pinotage) lilies in confined space aroma. No sign of bricking. Sweet concentrated juicy blackcurrant flavours with integrated tannins and wonderful length. A brilliant wine with only its limited complexity stopping an even higher mark. This wine has reached its plateau of perfection but with plenty of years ahead of it. One of only two wines that I follow slavishly year on year, the other is Ducru-Beaucaillou.

This is pinotage at its finest - steamrollers any suggestion of asphalt - the nose initially fragrant and perfumed becomes a little earthier over time. The tast is sublime - long and smooth with hints of coffee and chocolate - this is superb

Super fresh, dense and delicious with ridiculous amounts of time left. Will probably be better in 2030 (!)
