Drank as part of a 3-year vertical tasting of '06-'08. Leathery, with dried dark fruit and some warming spice on the back of the palate. I don't see this improving any more.

This has a nice a-typical Syrah nose, savory dark fruits, a bit of blueberry, a bit of cherry, black pepper and ash. Smells tasty. Medium bodied. Starts off nicely with it's bright cherries, red grape, apple skins, with nicely balanced acidity and tannin that builds as more is consumed. That said, the finish here is pretty short. It comes in, shows you a good time, washes the dishes and leaves without leaving a number. That could be either a good or bad thing depending on who you are. Me? I'd like a bit more follow-through. Still, it's a very nice wine.

Still tannic on open. Light chocolate. Plum with dark fruit. Spiciness gone. It was better a year ago. Drink them now, if you got them.

This has aged nicely and improved. Leather, plum, cassis, maybe a bit of violet on the nose.
