  • Drinking outstanding right now. Comparable to Saxum (never had a bad bottle). Great bottle. I will be visiting this winery next time in Paso Robles. Great nose and beautiful palette. Can’t believe I overlooked this winery.

  • Took this to a party and everybody was impressed - even non-Zin fans - still lots of bold fruit even after 13 years.

  • We tasted the 2007 Outsider and the 2007 Problem Child in the same evening. This was a very interesting comparison as the Outsider is composed of 70% zinfandel, 20% syrah, 10% mourvedre while the Problem Child is 72% zinfandel, 16% syrah and 12% mourvedre. Despite having almost identical composition, these wines tasted very different upon opening. The color of both was the same with dense garnet in color. The Problem Child was ripe, sweet red and black fruit-sweet black cherries, black raspberries, plums. Smooth and complex with some earth, and vanilla from oak. Seamless and well integrated with long finish. In comparison, the Outsider seemed to have less fruit and a sharper edge, but the same fruit notes, and a slightly shorter finish. With time in the glass the Outsider seemed to open more and become more like the Problem Child, although I could always tell them apart by the sharper edge present in the Outsider. Both lovely wines, but tonight for me the Problem Child wins out.

  • Aucun signe d'oxydation.
