Beautiful wine with an elegance that comes with its age. There’s a honeyed balsamic note on the nose that is spectacular. Palate is less rustic and less tannic than I recall from nine years ago. This wine seems to float over the tongue without losing its deep balsamic notes. I’m wishing I had had this with a rosemary-infused dish.

The cork was a mess. The last piece was not removable and needed to be pushed into the bottle. Decanted and filtered out the cork pieces. That said, this is still a very nice wine but on the down side compared to the last one we opened almost 10 years ago. The fruit has subsided and a hint of licorice is noted now. Paired well with a couple of two inch strip steaks, rosemary roasted potatoes and green beans in EVOO and garlic. Happy Fathers Day to me!!

(Bodegas El Nido Jumilla Clio) Very dark red violet color; oak, berry, boysenberry nose; tight, tart berry, black fruit oak palate with grip; medium-plus finish 90+ pts. (the oak needs to integrate, needs 7-10 years)

Very good place right now, rich fruit, well integrated, long pleasant finish. Took to a large public tasting.

Dark, plummy and rich with no hard edges, this is drinking beautifully. Enjoy within the next year or so.
