First very closed but then opened up nicely. Not as fruity as the one I drank a about a year ago. A bit of citrus, some floral notes, a little bit of minirality. Over the top.

Nice limestone smell that was very inspiering as we were having oysters. The wine was very fruity and nice but a bit too fruity for the oysters. It went a lot better with the cured salmon that we also had. After a while some toffe and buttery tast appeared like in a oked chardonay.

Fresh melon, a little banana and some tropical fruit. Perfectly balanced, rich, elegant, almost sweet taste. Marvelous wine. Probably the best Grüner Veltliner I have tasted so far.

Académie des Cinquante Kremstal & Burgenland visit; 9/19/2004-9/22/2004: Vines are 50 - 70 years old, 25 hl/ha. Lovely intensity, elegant, nice touch of herbs; extra warmth from the fermentation and élévage in (old) oak; lovely wine, excellent quality.
