Opened up a bit musty, but that blew off after about two hours. Dark and intense, with plenty left in the tank. Feels like it's just opening up now, though this is the first I've tried.

This was lovely paired with a selection of cheeses, some charcuterie and truffled camembert. Beautiful vanilla and baking spice on the nose. On the palate some cherry and earth. Nice acidity and long finish.

This was very nice. Generously shared by MLEH. Cork was in perfect condition. Bottle was upright for a few weeks, decanted just prior to service at 6pm to filter off sediment at the bottom, of which there was a considerable amount of very fine sediment. On the nose this showed strong vanilla and baking spice in front of su bois. On the palate there was a surprising amount of cherry fruit left mixed with pleasant earthy tones. Was surprised at how youthfully this showed. Went extremely well with truffled camebebert, charcuterie, and assorted cheeses.
For what it's worth, this opened up nicely during our cheese and charcuterie course in the decanter. Did not lose any steam at all. If anything, it gained depth and precision.

(Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot) Slightly bricking medium cherry red color; maturing, mushroom, dried cherry, baked raspberry nose; tasty, deep, ripe and tart red fruit, tart raspberry, mineral palate with medium acidity; medium-plus finish 92+ pts.
(Jadot Louis Clos de Vougeot) Deep colour. Nose is black cherry with soil and fallen leaves. The palate has prominent furry tannins and very good acidity. The fruit is incredibly intense black cherry, in fact almost sour cherries. Very long too, though still very young. This wine is more structured and primary than most 2000's and I wouldn't touch another for 4-5 years. Excellent potential.

Earthy, rustic and gamey with wild dark fruit. Punching below other grand cru cuvees for Jadot in the 96 vintage.
