Marked in CT to drink by '17 and I stand by my note from '13. Pop and pour, this comes across as aged BDX, with old leather, cigar box, earth and must on the nose. Flavor continues with a quality aged cigar, dark plum, faint chocolate. Nicer than a Montelena or Insignia at 2x+ the price. In the prime of its life and drink now.

Almost comes across as Bordeaux in flavor profile--but the alcohol and polished texture give it away. Nose is rather shy with flint, stone, and a little mocha. Rather dark fruit profile on the palate with 'dusty' and gravel undertones. Moderate mocha finish. A bit closed at this stage, despite the 3hrs air given. A moderate weight well balanced Napa cab. Alcohol pokes out a bit but not too intrusive.

Splash decanted at a restaurant. Cedar spice, coffee, and currants on the nose. Palate was plush, deep, and rich, leaning much more towards currants and plum than red fruit. Coarse tannins but very much in the background. Finished with coffee and repeating cedar spice notes. Seems like it still needs a year or 2 to unwind but opened up quite well after and hour in the decanter.

Hooked up to a nitro canister for consumption by the glass at home. Nose is VERY much like a bordeaux; leather, earth, mushroom and dark red fruits on the nose. Medium+ weight on the palate; ripe black cherry and chocolate are dominant flavors, with some black cherry as well. Really a nice wine, opens up slightly in the glass, in a good place today.

Mature and ready to drink. Definitely gives you rich plumb and subtle cedar in the background. Doubt this wine will improve.
