  • Took over an hour to open up, was almost benign out of the bottle, but after some time exhibited a black fruit nose, subtle earthiness and cedar. Medium body and medium acidity, there's a core of black fruit, But is lacking a sense of individuality and is very primal. The mid-palate is muddled and the finish is liquId smooth as the tannins have resolve significantly. I'm going to let 1/2 the bottle sit for a day and revisit

  • unimpressive
tarry, one dimensional, earthy, with none of the brilliant Beze fruit i want.
utter disappointment, but I am sort of not surprised.

  • decanted for about an hour . Very smooth with long finish . I find this quite an earthy CdB but with amazing fruit .

  • Liquid velvet. Drinking super smooth now. All tannins resolved. It has thrown a bit of sediment. It opens up in the glass, but a short decant wouldn't hurt. This CdB is enjoyable, sophisticated, and long on the palate. Drink now.

  • Open, a bit rough, meaty nose. Some "funkiness" to it. Dark, deep fruit, chocolate, herbs, and laurel notes. On the masculine, tough and rough side.
Tannic, minerally palate. Good grip. Midpalate of sweet dark fruit, iron, mineral, earth and meat. Rather oaky. Well developed. Quite a sturdy wine, that lacks some elegance for absolute GC top level. But it is a fullish wine. A lot of wine. We actually guessed on something from Gevrey due to the iron minerality.
