  • It might be slightly faded but I adore aged Rhone whites. It has an unfortunately subtle nose of honey but it's there. Rather boozy, unexpectedly. The palate hits with acidity but as the wine warms up, beautiful notes of dried apricots and caramelized brioche come through. There is some bitterness in the finish but it's ok. Look, after 15 years this is probably not at its peak but I am a little in love.

  • I'm not sure this is holding on.... when I popped this open, cold out of the fridge, it smelled good. It smelled like a good marsanne/roussanne blend with less of the Viognier sticking out than I figured. I've been swirling it and letting it come up to room temp and the nose has this weird cat pee thing almost like a sauvignon blanc. There is fruit behind it, but the cat pee shows most strongly. Weird. The nose doesn't smell good considering this. In the mouth it's a bit better, it doesn't taste like cat pee (I don't know what that tastes like, but I can imagine I guess) and that off aroma on the nose doesn't translate strongly to the palate. The palate has those honeyed, waxy fruit flavors that are typical of these varietals with really nicely balanced acidity. However, some of that off, somewhat harsh flavors from the nose can be seen on the finish of this, adding a harsh edge to what would otherwise be a great experience. I keep wanting to say it's corked or flawed but it isn't.... I'm not really sure what went wrong with this bottle. Considering the flavor intensity and acid, you would think this would be fine, but who knows.

  • A blend of Viognier, Roussane and Marsanne (in nearly equal proportions). The fruitiness of the Viognier is prominent on the nose. The dry, crisp acidity of the Roussane and Marsanne dominate on the palate. I had this with raw oysters and the pairing, while not as good as a Chablis, was very nice. They worked well together. The bottom line is that the vintner has created a very nice blend that would pair with a lot of light summer fare and is drinkable on its ownl.

  • White Rhone blend from OR, wow who new. Thanks to K&L Wine for the recommendation.
35% viognier, 30 % marsanne, 35% roussanne, in perfect harmony.

Nice subtle floral nose from the viognier, wonderful stone fruit, nicely balanced, excellent mouthfeel and mouth watering finish.
    Must order more!
