We decanted an hour and had a glass left the following day. The wine was very good, rich, dark with chocolate notes, but a bit duller than expected after reading others reviews.

Interesting perspective below. This bottle had roasted fruit with heavy wood tannins. I love alto moncayo young (although it’s been a couple years) but this wine blind is Southern Rhône in a hot year with a good 15 years of age. I’m thinking 03 or 05, with a nod to 05 given the underlying structure. I won’t get to taste it tomorrow... For me, it’s past peak and starting to become disjointed but still bears the hallmarks of a well made product.

Had at Blair Branch and thought it was drinking wonderfully after 13 years. Bested the Herman Story that was younger. I’d should buy more.
