Very nice with leftover lamb shanks. Jill complained it was to heavy with the heavy lamb - but I thought it was well paired. Last bottle - will have to find some more - though not carried by the Root's.

Color: black, ruby rim. Nose: red fruit, stemmy, mocha, little funk. Day 2: raisin and prune. Palate: really nice, lush, soft feel. Red fruit, mocha, rustic. Wish it had little more tannin or structure. Day 2: raisin, prune, dark fruit.

Very nice - delicious. Whatever edges this wine might have had were softened and left only a nice warm wine. One of two bottles consumed with a Saturday night dinner with Maryann and Andy - veal chops with polenta and broccoli rabe. Crab salad appetizer and Jill's chocolate orange bread pudding for desert.
