  Found this at the back of the cupboard sitting beside a 2012 By Farr Chardonnay. The by Farr was straight down the sink. This wine was very good. Light colour. Light lemon nose and taste. Good acidic aftertaste . A classic Australian Chardonnay that I have returned to recently

  A year on and no change. will be a long lived wine. Agree with GraemeG previous comment, very Chablis like and a very reserved version of Vat 47 compared to a decade ago for example. I prefer the 'old school' version. Tyrrell's will have fun pulling this out as a 20 year old chardy curio. An aperitif wine due to it's chablis like nature (tight grapefruity back palate).

  Classic taste for a mature Vat 47. That light to medium bodied build. soft acid indicating mature wine. Still with some lemon/grapefruit/tertiary points to it. Not sure I'd say it has 3 years to its apogee, I'm thinking it is pretty much optimal at 10 years of age. Good to very good but doesn't blow the roof off the stadium.

Tight, figgy, subtly-oaked, medium weight, with grapefruit flavours, medium acid, medium/full body, medium length finish. Good chardonnay which really deserves more time.
