A friend brought this over. It was surprisingly drinkable given how old it was - not much fruit, leathery nose, and very dry. Wonder what it was like when it was young.

Cured meat, saddle leather, black currant on the nose. Currant, black pepper, smoky beef on the palate. Velvet up front with a slight bite at the end. Finish faded a little quickly, but still a joy to drink! This will go a little longer.

Time to drink this one. Initially a bit flat, but opened up some with the aerator. Red fruits, muted, with some vanilla and a touch of spice box on the bouquet. The finish is a bit lacking, probably due to age (all of 6 years). I'm still drinking it 3 hours in and enjoying it. Taste was classic syrah to start, the full fruit with a herbal skeleton. Now a couple of hours in its still bright, but also a bit hot. Not as good as when we had it at the winery on the Silverado Trail in Autumn 2009. Still I enjoyed it. I'm ok it was my last bottle.

Still drinking well. Good age to drink if you have some....but I do kike some age on my wines, so maybe it's too old already for some who don't.

Deep, rich, dark fruit, wine. Full bodied and very soft. Really enjoyed this wine.
