  Fill into neck. Pours a cloudy ruby-garnet. This bottle has some nutty, almost sherry-like notes on the nose, which is not a good sign. Drank alongside the '94, which was stylistically a very different wine. Not sure if it's winemaking or age, but the '94 was laced with oak, full and lush, and velvety smooth (not really my style, but this was in a good place). The '83 was more red-fruited, with red currant and cassis, juicy acidity on a lithe frame with slightly drying tannins.
