Blackberry, cedar, grilled herbs, tamari. Full bodied, strong but mellowed tannins, medium acidity, well-integrated. Some heat on the finish, but the texture more than makes up for it. Just starting to show some tertiary character, around peak to my taste, but clearly has 3-5 years before turning the corner if well-stored.

Starting to near its peak, with probably a 5 year window of maturity ahead. The oak and tannins are integrated now, though the tannins aren't melted at this point. A very old school, clean and fruit-driven wine, full bodied. At first the Syrah component was most forward, with blackberry, tar and cola flavors. But the herbal and cassis components of the BDX varieties emerged over time. Silky texture, medium acidity, finishes with dark fruit and herb flavors.

For a cuvee, this is a big wine. Tasted at winery and bought upon release. Nice nose with plenty of fruit to balance strong tannins. Enjoyable once it had some time to air out. Will probably give my last 2 bottles more time before opening.

through vinturi and still a monster. very tannic and very big on this night, with noticeable alcohol on the nose which ends up fairly well blended with the fruit on the palate.

Last bottle from release. Drank quite well. Tannins have softened and enough fruit left to really enjoy this with some bbq.
