This one was more advanced than my previous bottle; clearly way over the hill. Popped and decanted (the bottle last year was Andouzed all day; maybe that's the difference). No fruit left, although a little sweetness on the tongue to go with the late tertiary flavors and aromas.

We opened this bottle for Dag's 59th birthday, from his 1959 birth year. I Andouzed the bottle; the cork looked intact, stained to the top 10%. Old wine nose as expected; soy sauce and earthy leather. The palate had a surprising amount of cherry fruit remaining, with the old soy sauce and some oxidative notes. All in all, an enjoyable vinous experience.

Unfortunately for us, though it's owner had at least one good bottle of this in the relative recent past, this was badly necrotic.
