Soft black fruit initially on the nose with herbs. Palate is v dry and chewy tannin noted though so so integrated. Great structure. Almost chocolate on the finish but the primary fruit is fading. Certainly more tertiary notes of leather, meat and herbs but it still has a sweet edge.
The finish is long and balanced with everything ending at the same time.
I know Chianti shouldn't taste this good at 15 years but this does.

Medium ruby color, red cherries, strawberries, leather, balsamic, very nice mouthfeel, medium body, well integrated acidity, looooong finish. One of the best regular Chianti I have ever drunk.

This bottle showed much better than the previous one that I opened a while back. Still holding up with ripe and sweet fruit core. Balanced with soft tannins. Drink soon.

No formal TN. This is my last of 3 bottles of this wine. lastr tasted 3 yrs ago, I gave it 91 pts. Probably hanging at 90-91 still. Perhaps a bit less fresh, but overall delicious food wine. Drink up.

great nose of wild dark raspberry and deep forest floor; still has plenty of fruit with a full mid palate; great acidity that is slightly coarse. Decant for sediment. Still really good.

(Fontodi Chianti Classico) Very dark red violet color; nice, very tart black fruit, tar, Italian herbs nose, with a touch of brett; tasty, focused, very tart black fruit, tar palate with medium acidity and firm tannins; tasty now but could use 2-plus years of bottle age; medium-plus finish (good value for under $30)
(Fontodi Chianti Classico) Dark red violet color with pale meniscus; dried berry, chocolate, anise nose; tight but tasty, tart berry, anise, dried berry palate with firm, sweet tannins; medium finish (needs 3+ years)
