Candied fruit nose with some leather in the background. Smooth and refined, but with ample tannin structure. Red currant and earthy flavors with a pronounced spiciness. Great Brazilian BBQ accompaniment.

even after a 3 hour decant, the tannins were very pronounced. The fruits of balckberry and plum are complemented with tarry tobacco flavors, but I begin to wonder if the tannins will ever subside enough. Perhaps in a few more years.

This is an unusual and intriguing taste. I personally like it best blended with other grapes in some of the other Chilean wines. But, that said, this is a strong and positive taste sensation. The overall sense reminds me of juniper berries, with some bitter plums and peppers. I would also call it "bright" and note that it reminds me in the aftertaste of apricots, coffee and burnt tobacco. The color is dark with a nose of cherry. The acid and tannin content is high, but adds to the overall sense of tartness in the mouth. The initial moments remind me as well of celary and red peppers. So, quite a symphony of sensations that are encouraged from this. I should also note that the initial glass was closer to a 90, then the 2nd glass seemed even better (on the 2nd night).

Lovely wine as always. Everytime I find this I buy a bottle. Smooth the whole way through. Tanins are nicely balanced. Fruit/earth nice mixture.
