An $8 low-level past-its-prime Beauj means very low expectations which this wine managed to exceed. Brambly, blackberries and raspberries, saline/minerality. Light body, medium tingly tannin, crunchy, red-fruit acidity. Not complex and certainly past any prime it may have had, but quite drinkable.

Recommended as a great value by the wine buyer at a local gourmet supermarket, this wine was disappointingly thin and a bit tart.
