  • A focus on Nuits-Saint-Georges (Aquitaine, Chicago IL): Nose: This showed a more intense side with dark red cherries, licorice, violets, cranberries, and some oak tones. This isn't necessarily overdone, but it is far from bashful.

Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium acidity and some wood tannins. The feel is larger with dark red cherries, licorice, cranberries, and some oak tones.

Overall: This showed off as more intense and lacked the rustic quality I want from an NSG.

  • I have catched this wine at the ultimate top. Everything about this wine was absolutely perfect.
It started with a perfect bouquet: violets, nearly perfumed, but with a concentrated fruit core, which
makes the difference with a Vosne of Chambolle; for me really a Nuits with a brillant, middle deep colour.
From the beginning in the mouth to the aftertaste everything was in absolute balance.
In fact I tasted what I smelled, supported by very ripe tannins; a constant freshness combined with
an aristocratic force including an etheral aftertaste. As you can read I was hit by this stupendous wine.
I already drank thuis wine one or two times before and enjoyed it really, but this (last?) bottle...
Tip: decant 20 minutes before serving.
P.S. his unknown Bourgogne Grand Ordinaire white 2006 is coming, but still wait some months and
    it needs decanting!
