  • I used to buy Jobard's wines in most vintages but extreme levels of bottle variation (prior bottles of this same wine were DOA) and pre-mox (80% of 2002s) put me off. So much so that I basically gave this one up for dead long ago -- but no, there's life here still. Lots, in fact. Indeed this is fine, with potent aromas of citrus blossom and a touch of crème brulée. Quite lively on the tongue with bright acidity enlivening rich secondary flavors. Balanced and elegant. This is really good, but I'm still batting no better than .125 over my entire purchase history with these.

  • Took some time to open up. Showing well but with further potential.

  • Two bottles from the same case, bought and stored together, consumed about ten days apart: one was way over the hill and provided zero enjoyment, the other was fresh and vibrant and admired by all. Great examples of the Burgundy crapshoot.

  • Room was dark but wine appeared straw-colored. Lovely citrus and mineral on the nose. Intense mineral and citrus with some smoke - this is really hitting on all cylinders! Wine was opened at the beginning of dinner and served alongside an '02 Colin-Deleger Hospice du Beaune Genevrieres. The Jobard was clearly the finer wine this night. Finish stays a long time and was just perfect with oysters and sole meuniere. Outstanding.

  • Had this at a post-Thanksgiving meal with scallops and can't remember much. It seemed like a very solid bottle but was outshone by the 2002 Raveneau Mont-Mains served alongside. It was probably Excellent, possibly just Very Good but cannot remember!
