A mature, garnet colour; an elegant, attractively mature Burgundy with dark cherry, damson and blueberry fruit, plus woodland notes. Fairly concentrated, especially for a 2007, and long on the finish. Overall, a very satisfying wine.

A fine, nicely mature, quite intense, black-fruited Burgundy, with some fresh acidity. Quite rich and concentrated, especially for a lighter vintage. A true grand cru, which seems to be at its best now.

Delicious! Drinking beautifully now, presumably at its peak. Black fruited - black berries, black cherries and creme de cassis - with spices and some dark florals. Attractive 2007 character. Very much Charmes but not as profound as the Rousseau or Bachelet versions. Bright acidity and fine grained tannins. Spherical and silky. A little seamless New World-like but ultimately well made, fairly modernist Grand Cru Burgundy from an approachable vintage.

5th of 6, pnp, perfect cork and level, rather amazingly this wine is putting on mid palate weight and showing more black fruit to add to its lovely grace and balance, on this showing I may need to revise my ideas on the vintage, no rush here. At least a strong F (17.5).

Quite a deep colour; medium weight, fresh, vibrant fruit, well rounded and quite long. Nicely mature, but should keep for a while yet.
