  • Great again….very consistent over the years. Explosive bouquet, roars out of the glass from the get go, and incredibly pungent Pinot fruit (96)

  • When a wine is this expensive and it disappoints, it's a very bad day indeed. Some thought it was corked, but it wasn't - the funky aromas didn't get worse over time, nor did they dissipate. The wine was flat and tired, which made no sense given the vibrant performance of two 07 Liger-Belair 1ers in this flight. I think the provenance just wasn't up to snuff on this bottle, what a shame.

  • A side by side with DRC GE 07 made for a fascinating pair. The stemware wasn't my favorite (not sure what Burgundy glass exectly it was but not a Zalto Burg, a significantly smaller glass) but this stormed out of the gate well on the nose with cinnamon, baking spice, cherry. Mid-weight and good persistence on the palate but initially while dominating the DRC on the nose not was deep an offering on the palate as the DRC. The CLB however picked up significant weight after 1.5 hours of bring opened and went far deeper than initially to probably just pip the DRC in a photo finish. Fun pair.

  • A wine I’ve been fortunate to enjoy many times, never anything less than exquisite. This time drunk side by side with a beautiful 14, and showing some secondary character which I really enjoyed (97)

  • Another fantastic bottle….finely detailed and layered. And while not a powerhouse (nothing in 07 is), it’s very well balanced with a pleasing ripeness. Just hinting as secondary development
