Glass courtesy of Daniel from the private dinner in the next room. From magnum? Lots of ripe red cherry with baking spice, this is not overtly powerful, but superbly elegant and enchanting.

My first experience with Liger Belair and I was really impressed. Very different style from DRC, this wine was all about the fruit and even slightly flashy by comparison… so juicy and forward, extremely tasty.

A most impressive bottle. Pnp a apres dinner party impromptu gathering. It dares to outshine the DRC from 2000 I had couple years ago. It has the fetching Vosne spice. But what is more is that it kept developing. There was some hoisen gamey notes that really add intrigue. Too bad I could not stay all night to see how this develops. I am sure it will get even better had I let it sit for another hour. Wonderful!

2018 Dinner at Ma Cuisine (Beaune): Bill very generously opened this Liger-Belair for us. Beautifully perfumed and pure on the bouquet. Popped and poured, slowly unfolding, showing layers of dark florals, sweet-seeming black fruit and an array of spices. Incredibly pure, clean and focussed on palate. "Incredible persistence", noted Andrew. Silky, mouth caressing with ultra-fine tannins. However, quite primary and tensile at its core. Beautiful dark fruit and minerality. One of the wines of the trip.
