Disappointing, following other recent reviews. Not corked, but the cork disintegrated on removal -- perhaps too much air. This was just an old Rhone -- nothing special, and didn't show as a Cote Rotie. Nose musty, but not inoffensive . Hints of complexity that was muted in the palate. Rhone flavors, but more tobacco. I'll try another of the remaining bottles soon.
Tasted non blind at a wine dinner. Opened and served immediately.
Garnet color in the glass, slightly dusty looking. Nose of dishwater, leather, anise and berries. Flavors of berries, licorice and a bit of cherry. Medium acidity, medium tannins, medium body. Drink now?
