Wine Education Service - Italy - The Heel & Toe: Almost translucent, definite browning at the rim. Sweet and welcoming aromas, fruit with a little vegetal development. Sweet ripe fruity attack (cherries), a delicious peppery wine, lovely.

Transparent garnet colour with a bright red berry filled nose. The palate is ripe and almost a little candied with lots of tinned strawberry fruit and a spicy, smoky finish.

Bright red colour. Herbs - perhaps thyme / rosemary on the nose along with a bit of cherry and a bit of coffee. On the pallete cherry, a bit of licquorice and coffee. Slightly tart and rustic with high acid. Opened a bit more after an hour.

Rather good. At first I thought it tasted rather mature for a wine just over 3 years old but it seemed to firm up in the decanter over a couple of hours. Meaty nose with a bit of cherry and herb. Good mellow dark fruits with an excellent savoury quality. Big flavour, mellow but good intensity. Buy more for drinking now.

Pleasant surprise, medium to full bodied, with some dry tannins. Some cherry on the palate. The montepulciano grape is noticable
