  • Fun trio of 88, 89, and 92 Ruchottes.
The 88 was close to over the hill for me, particularly on the nose. The palate did provide a modicum of joy. The group was split, with a few enjoying it much more than others.
The 89 was mature, exotic, delicious, and by objective tasting measures should have been WOTF.
But the 92 was, for my tastes, a perfect and enticing bottle from the first sip. We kept contrasting it to the 89, which had so much going. But the 92 was simply divine

  • 5 of 6 this was part of a flight which included the 88/89/92. The 88 was advanced and left in the shadow of excellent bottles of 89 and 92 … an epic battle both were really singing. 1989 is my favorite white burgundy vintage, the wines have an energy and crispness that keeps the wines on point and combines well with Ramonet style… just delicious. The 92 looked like it was a 2012, the nose was filled with fresh fruits and mineral notes. The palate was crisp with acidity lifting the fruit without loosing all of its vintage richness. Split decision for WTF

  • Quite heavy botrytis detracts from the usual Ramonet style

  • Fill level was low, cork was slightly elevated, looked like a little bit of seepage... so I was nervous this was dead... but, surprise, it's delicious! Round and honeyed with nice acid, drinking really well.

  • 4 of 6. Had a bottle last week that was sub par and wanted to taste another bottle to see if it was bottle variation, or the wine is over the hill. Well the votes are in and this bottle confirmed how good this wine can be. This bottle had better color, fresh crispy fruit, which filled out beautifully with a another 90 minutes in the glass. …..
