The overwhelming impression is of white grape juice. Which, of course, it is, but you know what I mean; the sweet, Welch's kind. Some key lime pie with whipped cream, fruit cup, crisp green apple. It comes off sweet but isn't, and maintains balance well. A good amount of acidity makes for a long lively finish. Medium body. Really nice, interesting example of the varietal, but the perceived sweetness won't be for everyone, and also puts it at risk of falling out of balance as it ages. Would drink up soon/now.

Tasted at URBAN Enoteca (Seattle) at a private opening for six wineries including McCrea Cellars. There was a buzz going around the room that this was an exceptional white wine! An elegant Roussanne. Color: Golden straw. Aroma: Orange and peach… very tropical. Tasting notes: Pears and apricot. This is sumptuous indeed with a nice long finish…

COLOR: Medium gold, brilliant. NOTE: Nose is nice honeysuckle and lemon oil, maybe a hint of passionfruit. Mouth is medium weight with lots of fresh Bosc pear, sweet lemon juice and clover honey with wax, but totally dry. Very nice. Finish takes it all and turns it into creme brulee, with a nice caramelized sugar note that lingers for 20+ seconds. This is a great vineyard and I'm really liking the Rhone varietals coming out of it. I rarely like Roussanne by itself, but this one is really nice.

Bright gold. Lime on the nose. Some brushy mouthfeel with herbal notes, sherry, complexity present but on the down swing.

Simply put; really good wine. Clear gold. Spicy nose. Good minerality, strong bitterness with a smoothness that finishes well. A great effort.
