The wine has medium acidity. It smells like flint, pear, stoniness and honeydew. The wine finishes medium. It tastes like almond, pear, cantaloupe, stoniness and honeydew. The wine looks silver colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. The wine has bright texture. Excellent with mango curry.

Like the Rottland, this shows very impressively for the vintage - fresh fruit, a stony and slatey base underneath and some smoky and herbal accents that emerge with air. The balance is excellent, and though it doesn't have the depth or finesse I might otherwise expect from a Leitz dry wine, it's drinking very nicely now.

TTTG Blind (very brief notes): Outclassed by the Rottland drank along side it. Nice attack, but a bit austere, and with very little finish. This was a surprising showing, so I'm not sure if it is a phase, an off bottle, or just the unfortunate fate of this wine.

Complex and delicious. Lush on the nose and palate, with notes of honey and a creamy texture that must have come from botrytis. Spiced fruit, good acidity, long finish. This seemed to improve with aeration. Very nice wine. I'd really like to try some of his other 2000 dry rieslings.
