Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 93 points

  • This bottle was tasted blind and was noted afterward as being in good, but not great, condition. It had a light red/brown center and tawny rims. The medium- intensity nose displayed cherries sauteed in brown sugar, anise, and roses. There were also some oxidative notes.

In the mouth, this wine showed very little fruit but had a thick, glycerol mouthfeel. It also showed attractive acidity and balance. Unfortunately, this bottle was probably not handled with the utmost of care as the fruit was muted and the wine seemed past its prime.

This was a fun bottle to drink. However, it left me wondering what a bottle in great condition might be like. Based on this bottle, I would suggest drinking ASAP.
