Needed a little bit of air to get going but boy was it good. You get some exotic notes of the vintage coupled with some honey, brulee and toasty development. It is luscious and rich with a low acid feel but still finishing fresh. The lasting impression is one of almond butter.

(taken to Alana's)Austere and severe to open. Slight flint on the nose, crisp acids with lemongrass, limestone and very angular. Quickly picked up a lot of weight and rounded off. Cream notes, a bit of chevre, plenty of mineral body and well-structured acids. Very striking on the palate and a long finish with some tropical fruits. Lovely. Excellent with scallops, paté, amuse courses.

Post Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner (Château du Clos de Vougeot): A polarizing wine that other liked more. While I liked the butterscotch, I found signs of botrytis I didn't enjoy as well as more maderized/ maderizing maturity than I'd like at this age.
