The 2 Decades Before the Millenium (Vino Sustinemus Clubhouse): At first opening, a bit muted and cold. Upon warming this gave off an enticing nose of hazelnuts, mushrooms, baked apples, honey and butterscotch. Even later there were tennis ball notes. The palate was very fresh tasting. There were clean lemon and baked apple notes coming together atop ample acidity and providing a long silk finish. Delicious

Sadly, there was just a touch of cork taint to this wine. It was rich and layered and had notes of mandarin, custard apple, honey, apricot and aniseed. Botrytis was evident. I suspect sound bottles would be really good.

Took a good 30 mins to open up with grilled nut, chrysantheum, brown sugar, flowers and coffe beans. Complex with lots of acidity. No one thought it was from the 80s when it was served blind. Perfect marriage between acidity and secondary note.

Bouchard's bottling Chateau de Beaune. Pnp, golden in color, honey and some hint of white flower aroma. Fresh on palate though, lemon custard, spice and salinity. Medium concentration but very smooth and soothing.

Just a Monday night thang (Lucio's BYOB, Houston): Notes are from last glass. Superb nose of toffee, flint, meyer lemon, and figs. On the palate, butterscotch, lemon curd, red apple, mineral, hints of pear. Finishes very long with racy acidity. WOTN in a night of three great whites
