I was reviewing a previous tasting note and it basically covered everything I wanted.
Dark color with purple showing around the edges. Mild sweet cherry initially with a meatiness to it. Taste a bit of stone, anise and peppery spice with a bite, mid palate the mildly tart cherry shows up and hangs around through a very long finish.
I'll add the tannins are rounded out but the stuffing is there to hold together for more years.
I promised myself I wasnt going to focus on a tasting note and just enjoy the wine, this is one of my favorites because it has all the fundamental elements of a great wine including complexity, balance, and sheer pleasure.
