  Andrew’s Rioja Fest (Marlow): No formal note, but this was in great shape. Classic Rioja nose with spice, leather, tobacco and dried red fruits, the palate was elegant and harmonious with resolved tannins and balanced fresh acidity carrying a good length finish Delicious!

  De color rubí marronoso de medio cuerpo, límpido, claro, luminoso. Reflejos rojizos y anaranjados, refulgente. Lágrimas finas, numerosas, permanentes, con sensación de grosor. Borde amplio, cobrizo.
  
  Imperial hasta la médula. Sutil, fragante, vaporoso, muy delicado. Transpira verdad y elegancia como pocos vinos, brillando a gran altura. A las notas de ahumados, tostados y maderas finas se suma un extraordinario fondo mineral (grafito, pedernal). Emerge la fruta roja y negra, muy madura, con apuntes de hierbas aromáticas, anises estrellados, salvia, laurel... Tiene un curioso aire de vino montañoso, profundo y complejo, que ya hemos encontrado en otros vinos del 75.
  
  En boca lo tiene todo. Envolvente, lleno, ágil, vivísimo, dotado de una estructura pétrea y una concentración que cuesta creer. Es tan fresco como sedoso y refinado, sin nada que envidiar al Gran Reserva de la misma cosecha. Un tinto mayúsculo, de enorme potencia y equilibrio, que está a punto de cumplir los 40 años y aún se muestra totalmente entero, casi juvenil. Muy buen vino!!!

  85% tempranillo, 10% graciano, 5% mazuelo - 12.5% vol.
  Permanece durante 12 meses en depósitos para finalizar la fermentación maloláctica y reposar antes de pasar a criarse en madera. El vino madura durante unos 36 meses en barricas semi-nuevas de 225 litros, 70% de roble americano y 30% francés. Sometido a diversas trasiegas manuales cada año. Un mínimo de 36 meses de guarda en los botelleros de los calados de la bodega antes de ser comercializado a mediados de la década de los 80. Reencorchado cada 20 años.
