Smooth, round tannins but still drinking well. This was a very jammy, fruit-forward Cabernet. Fine for sipping on its own, but too sweet to win me over paired with steaks.

Not sure this is past its prime, but it's definitely ready to drink. Beautiful deep, dark red with lovely brick notes becoming readily apparent. Muscular and deep dark fruits on the nose; I could ID this as a Kuleto cab immediately. Rich, succulent on the palate, with black berries dominant. Starting to lose just a little bit of structure on the finish, but the flavor sticks around beautifully.

Popped and poured. Dark, inky garnet hue...still shows a bit of purple at the core (yup, inky holds true regardless of the the name). Aromatically pronounced upon removing the cork, with racy cherry, black currant, cedar shavings, fresh basil & and other herbs...perhaps just a touch of sandalwood too. Some heat as well. Medium-plus body. On the palate, this Cabernet shows just as the nose would indicate, with excellent vibrancy to the fruit and a herbaceous complexity without ever revealing too much oak. The tannins are a touch astringent on the plus finish. While it's built to last for at least another 3-5+ years, this one is drinking in an excellent spot right now and might even be at it's apex. Another delicious 2005!

Drank on summer trip to the beach. Very flavorful wine that got better with time.
