  • Just short of opaque with an inch pour. The upfront taste is red cherry and cranberry with a background tannin and bright acidity. Enjoyable, food friendly, and very elegant, but far from a powerhouse.

  • The Melange is an easy drinking Pinot Noir lover’s red blend, made from Bordeaux grapes with lesser amounts of Sangiovese and Syrah. Despite the potential for each of the grapes to make a powerful wine, the relative lack of concentration suggests that it is made from the grapes that do not make the cut for inclusion in the better wines and styled to be fruit forward with limited upside for aging. A dark but far from black color, mostly red cherry fruit, with decent acidity and fairly silky texture. The finish adds a taste of drying tannin to the fruit. Olives consumed with the wine help it by adding texture and richness to the taste.

  • A bit late on drinking this wine however it still is very pleasing, nice garnet color with a nose of leather and deep dark cherry fruit. Reminds me of a good quality aged bordeaux from the 60's or 70's (pre-parker). The score on this may have been higher a few years ago but still drinking nicely of course it was stored properly too which helps.
