Once again, time treats these Columbia Crest bargains well. Great mouth feel, bursting with blueberry, boysenberry, and black cherry. Hints of sage, cedar, and earthiness. Lively nimble tannins with just a touch of drying. Finish goes on and on.

My last bottle of this and easily the best. Light on its feet, but very precise. The blueberry and plum fruit flavors are beautifully focused, showing excellent depth and length. Lots of cassis and hints of oak and white chocolate glide through the polished finish. Almost as good as the superb 2006. Amazing quality for this price point. There are plenty of $50 Napa Cabernets that aren't nearly this good. 89+ 50+5+11+16+7=89

Consistent with my prior note from early this year. Hard to believe this is a $7.99 bottle. Drinks as well or better than many wines that are three times its price. A bit on the light side, but there's actually some structure and complexity to this, along with nice length on the finish. Very refined and satisfying, you simply cannot do any better in a Cabernet for around $8. 50+5+11+15+7=88

(Columbia Crest Grand Estates Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley) Wood, spice, and chocolate in the background on a nose that is quite muted. Taste shows a fair amount of oak influence with the fruit in the background. While this is often the style of this label, it doesn’t seem to work as well as usual on this vintage. Lingers in a slightly unpleasant way on the palate. 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah. 13.6% alcohol.
