  • Taste at Elysian.
Super impressed with thise bottling. The color is right on - light ruby red with slight hints of pink purple at the rim.
The nose is fantastic for a wine this cheap. Gorgeous pungent funk, earth and damp strawberries.
The palate is soft and feminine expressing the high elevation with elegance and finesse. A great finish.
    Fantastic wine. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

  • Big fat Burgundy bottle. 14,5% alc. Dark, dark pinot colour. On opening: promising blackberry scent, a touch of cassis. But then: a fat amorphous palate with juicy ribena-like fruit, no acidity to speak of, an unpleasantly thick glycerine texture and no secondary characteristics to ameliorate its primary deficiencies. After some wonderful Chilean Pinots which were cheaper (Vina Leyda) or more expensive (Ocio) than this headache monster this is a real bummer. Poor value at 20 GBP retail (Marks and Spencer, London). The ecstatic blurb on the back label should lead to prosecution under the Wine Lovers' Protection Act. 82P

  • It took a little air and time for the Pinot Noir character to emerge. Initially, this was all bright red fruit and campfire smoke on the nose, but after 30 minutes the finer ash tray, flint and steel and slightly earthy notes were showing. In the mouth the profile was ripe fruit - bright at the beginning, darker in the mid profile - leading to a mid weight acidity the was fairly refreshing and easy to keep coming back to. This was a very good to excellent Pinot and - if you like riper Pinots - a very good value.
