  • Popped and poured, it started very restrained. Blackberry liqueur, particularly creamy in the mouth. Cola, licorice, a little cherry and asian spice. Nice round mouthfeel and a silken finish with just enough grip. There was a dirty earthiness that reminds me of some of the shutdown Oregon Pinots I have encountered. On the second day it was much more open with zesty raspberry, licorice, flowers, very spicy and the earthiness was better integrated. The finish moved to the tart side. Decant for at least 3 hours or wait a couple more years. Scored based on second day performance.

  • A big, almost jammy nose of black cherry pie, cola, dried leaves and damp earth. Bright red fruits and sweet spices on the fat palate. Just the right side of syrupy. Excellent energy on the fruit dominate finish. Very enjoyable now but could go another 10+ years. Not sure this will add much more complexity though.

  • PROBABLY A BAD BOTTLE. OFF NOSE SOME FRUIT BUT MOSTLY MUSHROOMS & CARDBOARD. FLAVOR BETTER THAN THE NOSE BUT LIGHT FRUIT WITH LITTLE COMPLEXITY AND A SHORT TO MEDIUM FINISH.

  • At the winery, nose of rich pinot fruit, very meaty and brooding on the palate, need 3 years to peak, lots of rich mouth feel, rich, elegant taste, taste of ripe blackberry fruit, medium body with medium tannins.
